Community colleges provide an affordable alternative to four-year universities. By completing the first two years of college at a community college, students can save thousands of dollars in tuition and fees.

Thanks to the generosity of individual donors, corporate sponsors, and community partners, $460,000 has been awarded to 300 CCD students this fall alone.

CCD President Dr. Marielena DeSanctis had the distinct honor of representing Â鶹Éç of Denver at the White House for an event that brought together leaders from across the country to discuss building stronger connections between education and high-demand careers.

Â鶹Éç of Denver’s (CCD) Engineering Momentum: STEM Core program offers to underserved and underrepresented students, including minorities, women, and veterans. The program’s primary goal? To prepare students for Calculus within a year, setting them up for long-term success in math and engineering.

As the son of Mexican immigrants, neither of whom finished high school, Gael is a first-generation college student filled with a relentless passion for learning. He talks about his family, being part of CRCorps, setting one’s self up for success, and more.

The start of a new year can be stressful. Here are some of general resources and things to know to have a successful semester... besides what time your first class is!

It’s hard not to love animals, but for Â鶹Éç of Denver’s Veterinary Technology students, these animals become a passion and a career. For National I Love Horses Day (July 15), we wanted to share what our students are up to out of the classroom, and how much they love horses too!

Â鶹Éç of Denver was the only community college that was invited to participate, which seemingly played a large part in their success. Jacob and Lynae, along with two other CCD students, did not disappoint as CityHawks!

Beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, all institutions on the Auraria Campus (Auraria Higher Education Center, Metropolitan State University Denver, University of Colorado Denver, and Â鶹Éç of Denver) will begin reopening campus.

For CCD, this means we will return to fully remote operations for our Auraria Campus employees. I encourage everyone to stay connected through our online platforms and utilize the resources available to support your continued learning and work responsibilities.
