Paper Drop-Off with Written Feedback

We also offer a paper drop-off service where students can submit their writing and receive written feedback from a tutor. Live, face-to-face tutoring鈥攚hether in-person or online鈥攊s our preferred method for working with students. However, the paper drop-off service allows students to receive written feedback on their drafts when they are unable to attend our lab hours.

To receive written feedback from a tutor on your writing, you can reserve an hour of a tutor鈥檚 time through Accudemia (this is NOT a live tutoring appointment). When you schedule an appointment, please make sure to upload a draft of your writing, attach any assignment instructions and rubrics, and tell the tutor 1-2 specific areas on which you would like feedback. For a more in-depth discussion of your writing, please schedule a live online appointment or come in person for a drop-in session.

Please follow鈥痶he instructions below to request a tutor to read and provide written feedback on your writing.

STEP 1:鈥

  • For first time uses, go to and click "Request Password."鈥疧nce you have a password,
  • For returning Accudemia users, .

STEP 2:鈥

  • Select "+Schedule Appointment鈥
  • Under services, select "2. Paper Review - Written Feedback Only"
  • Select an open time for a tutor to review your paper
    • *This is NOT a live meeting. The tutor will review your paper on their own time and return written feedback to you within 24 hours*

STEP 3:鈥

  • Make sure you include the following attachments:鈥
    • A draft of your writing
      • If you forget to upload your draft, the tutor will send you a message in Accudemia. If you don鈥檛 submit a draft by the time of your appointment, you will need to reschedule.
    • Any assignment instructions or rubrics related to your draft
    • In the 鈥淣otes鈥 field, write 1-2 specific areas on which you want feedback
      • "I just want someone to look this over and tell me if it's good" is not a specific request.
      • Here is an example of a specific request for feedback: "I'm most concerned about my essay's organization. Are the connections between my paragraphs clear? Are they clearly related to my thesis? Let me know if there are any ideas that seem unrelated to my thesis."

STEP 4:鈥

  • Check Accudemia or your CCD email
    • You will be notified via email when a tutor has sent you feedback. The tutor will put their feedback and any attachments in the 鈥淣otes鈥 field of your appointment

Please download this attachment for a more detailed explanation of this process:
