�鶹�� of Denver (CCD) is hosting its second annual Black Male Summit (BMS) to inspire students of Denver Public Schools (DPS) to continue their education after high school. The half-day event will take place on Saturday, February 29th from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. in CCD’s Confluence Building located at 800 Curtis Street on the Auraria campus.

 Dr. Rolundus Rice, or “The Dapper Dean” as he is affectionately referred to by his students, will share his own story of his “Pilgrimage to Purpose”. Dr. Rice was appointed dean of humanities and fine arts at Talladega College in Alabama and is one of the youngest academic deans appointed at a four-year university in the United States. He has also been identified as a subject- matter expert on the civil rights movement.

CCD’s BMS is a day of celebration and fellowship, encouraging DPS students and their families to learn about CCD and the importance of a college education. The event will include inspirational speakers, community leaders, and student mentors. Informational workshops are planned for both students and their guardians.

To help defray the cost to attend college during their first semester, the DPS seniors in attendance will receive a $500 scholarship.
