Are you someone who wishes to understand the phenomenon of terrorism as a strategy for political change? Do you want to understand what motivates groups to use violence to achieve their political means? Perhaps you are curious as to the distinction between criminal behavior and terrorism.

This fall, �鶹�� of Denver’s political science department is offering a course you may want to check out. Current Political Issues: Terrorism (POS 215) is an introductory course exploring the history and political implications of terrorism. We will cover the basics of terrorism, review case studies from around the globe, and explore the theoretical approaches to controlling terrorism.

“This fall, we’re giving students case studies to explore,” says Tammi Spicer-Dormuth, assistant professor of political science. “They’ll be given the tools to distinguish “terrorism” and to work toward finding solutions to these intractable conflicts.”

In addition to CCD students, Spicer-Dormuth sees this course as an option for students at other four-year colleges who are studying political science, law, emergency management and homeland security, and more.

“This is a guaranteed transfer course,” says Spicer-Dormuth. “Students can take this course and it will transfer to any college or university in the state of Colorado.”

With CCD’s affordable tuition, this makes taking a course with us a smart option. Attend this class on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
